Privacy policy for desktop-assistant

Last updated: October 5, 2026

What this is

desktop-assistant is a private, single-user software tool that runs on its owner's own computer. It is not offered to the public. Its owner is its only user, and nobody else can sign in to it.

What it asks Google for

It asks for one permission on its owner's own Google account: to send email on the owner's behalf. It uses that permission only to send a message that the owner has reviewed and confirmed, one message at a time.

It does not read, list, search, change or delete email. It does not access contacts, calendars, files or any other Google data.

What it stores, and where

The sign-in token that Google issues is stored on the owner's computer, in the operating system's protected credential store. Copies of the messages the owner sends are kept on the owner's computer and in the owner's own mailbox. Nothing is stored on any server operated for this tool.

What it shares

Nothing. No Google user data is sold, shared with or transferred to anyone. It is not used for advertising, and it is not used to train or improve any artificial intelligence model. The only place a message goes is to the recipient the owner chose, through Google's own mail service.

The use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Removing access

The owner can remove this tool's access at any time in the Google Account settings, under the list of third-party apps with account access. Removing the stored token from the computer has the same effect for this tool.

This website

These two pages are plain text. They set no cookies, run no scripts and collect nothing. The company that hosts them may keep ordinary access logs, as any web host does.

Contact

This tool has one user, its owner, so there is no public contact for it.
